Ok so we all have problems with our hair and weather right? Well I do sort of. I have natural like I blogged about before, but it seems like my hair loves Moisture. MY HAIR, not my scalp. That's a WHOLE other story. But anyway, for reasons we all have shouted, "I can't work out because my hair is gonna mess up, or it's raining I don't have an umbrella my hair is gonna get wet", is that such a bad thing? For our hair to experience it's natural state every once in awhile.
I am currently wearing my hair in a two day old twist out. I get ALOT of tips that I use and have found to work great with my hair from @Nap85 on Twitter and Naptural 85 on Facebook. She tries alot of different twist out methods, she makes her own products and uses maybe one or two that she doesn't make and that's it. Her hair is AMAZING!!! I was always afraid to do different styles with my hair since I've been natural, but since I looked her up on YouTube and have subscribed to her channel, I must say her tips WORK!!! I'm not afraid to try different styles and I'm so loving my hair now.
Before I became natural my hair was limp and dry and I just really hated it. The weather made it even worse and if I didn't have a bunch of gunk in it, there was not helping it at all. If it rained it was in a ponytail, same thing with snow. When it was hot and I would sweat or if I worked out and I would sweat (gross I know, keep reading lol) my hair was just a hotmess.com!!! In my opinion, some hair styles do better than others in certain type of weather conditions. Mine for one likes moisture, so rain, snow and sweat COME HERE!!! It coils better, it maintains it's style longer, I am absolutely loving be a natural sistah!! And another thing, we just had our Central State University's homecoming over the weekend and it was a great site to see ALOT of my fellow Centralians wearing natural hairstyles, so awesome!!
If you take nothing from this blog take this: your hair has an amazing ability to do what it wants WHEN it wants. So leave it alone and let it be free...

My Natural Hair
This is my second blog and I wanted to talk about my hair. For years I have been so unhappy with my hair. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it, I was always paying someone to do it so that way I could keep my own hands clean. But right now, I am at a point in my life where I want my hair to do "it's thing". I want my hair to show me it's beauty that for so many years I have always tried to cover up. Within the last couple of weeks, I have taken my hair down and have allowed it to be itself. I co-wash it now with Giovanni's Direct Leave In conditioner which is the bomb and also Aubrey's GPB (I could be spelling that wrong) conditioner as a deep conditioner. I love both of these products, they really MOISTURIZE my hair and my hair feels like super soft when I use the both of them together. Another product I use that I just recently bought is Eco Styling Gel with Olive Oil and Eco Styling Gel Clear with moisturizer! I have been sleeping on this gel, it doesn't cake up in my hair and I love how soft it makes my hair feel and how my hair looks once it dries.
I am going to start and try to continue doing my own hair for awhile to see what it's growth potential is and how good I can get at doing it myself. Right now, my protective hair styles for the summer are the two strand twists, and when I have my water aerobics class on Wednesday, I will take the twist out and wear the twist out, but put it in a pony tail for my water class! I am going to try and wear it in a big, twist out ponytail to see how cute that can be. I see so many women wearing the natural hair styles nowadays, it's awesome. I'm so glad to see women of color taking pride in our natural state of hair and seeing what it can do for us as oppose to what we can do to it....

Me
Let me introduce myself, my name is Jennifer. And I might not have any followers or blogger followers or even floggers (blog followers) I just wanted to create a blog and kind of purge myself from me constantly thinking. I am a quiet, funny, loyal female that enjoys spending time with her family and friends. I work for a private doctor and have been for the past 16 years. I enjoy what I do because I get to meet new people practically everyday. Let me reiterate about what I mentioned earlier about me being quiet, I am kinda loud, but quiet in spirit. Meaning I can sit and not be heard, which I prefer alot of times anyway.
Anyhoo, I wanted to do a blog because something in my inner ear was like Jennifer why don't you create a blog. And I answered back like, "for what"? And the voice again was like to let people into the real Jennifer. So I was thinking like hmmm, who would care or even read about what I'd have to say or even wanted to say? But then I was like, I do. I care because it would allow me to get what's on the inside out and maybe even relieve the constant thinking I do about anything.
Since this is my very first blog, I'm not going to get into a lot with it right now, but just post a blog for things to come in the form of my Jennisms, which will in compass a WIDE variety of topics but mainly focus on why I wanted to start a blog in the first place: ME!!
